The paper clip chain is exactly what the name says: long, flat, elongated oval links laid end to end, like a row of paper clips. It is the modern chain — clean, architectural, unisex — and it has quietly become one of the most-worn styles of the last few years because it looks considered without looking heavy. Solid 14K yellow gold, 58.5% pure.

- Widths: 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 MM — measured across the link. 3–4 MM is delicate and layers well; 6–7 MM is a bold single piece.
- Lengths: 16 to 30 inches. 16″–18″ wears as a choker or high necklace, 20″–22″ sits at the collarbone, 24″+ layers over other chains.

Wearing it
The long open links make this one of the best chains for layering — it doesn't compete with a rope or a Cuban, it frames them. It also takes a charm or a small pendant well, because you can clip directly onto a link rather than threading through.
Care
Warm soapy water and a soft brush, then rinse and dry. No chlorine. The flat links can twist if the chain gets bunched up, so store it hanging or laid flat.
