A round signet ring in solid gold, cut with an open back.
Open back simply means the underside of the round plate is hollowed out rather than filled in. Less gold goes into the ring, so it costs less and wears lighter, and the hollow lets the ring sit closer to the finger. Seen from above it is identical to a closed-back signet — the same flat round face, the same polish. The whole difference is underneath.
These run big. Small is 9.5 x 10.0 mm, which makes a neat pinky ring. Medium jumps to 15.0 x 15.5 mm and Large to 18.0 x 18.5 mm — proper men's signet faces that cover a good part of the finger. If you have a delicate ring in mind, choose Small. Medium and Large are substantial, and they are meant to be.
Weight follows the face: Small comes in around 2 g, Medium between 7 and 10 g, and Large between 11.7 and 12.2 g.
Both golds are offered. 14K is 58.5% gold, for a richer and warmer yellow. 10K is 41.7% gold, harder at the surface and more affordable.
The face is left flat and unengraved, ready for a monogram, a single initial or a family crest.
Each ring is cast solid, hand-polished and sizeable by a jeweler, in ring sizes 5 through 15 including every half size.
