The traditional oval signet ring — a smooth, unengraved oval face on a solid gold band. Take it to an engraver for a monogram, a single initial, a family crest or a date, or wear it plain.
Choose 14K or 10K gold, in yellow or white. 14K is 58.5% gold and gives the richer, warmer colour. 10K is 41.7% gold — harder, more scratch-resistant, and noticeably more affordable for the same size of ring.
The three sizes
- Small — about 9 x 10 mm. A true pinky signet, and the size most women choose. Around 1.4 to 1.9 g of gold.
- Medium — about 13 x 15 mm. The classic everyday signet: present on the hand without shouting. Around 4.3 to 7.3 g.
- Large — about 16 x 20 mm. A full men's statement ring, heavy enough to feel it. Around 8.2 to 10.6 g.
Face sizes vary by a millimetre or two between yellow and white gold, because they are cast from different blanks. The exact measurement for each is listed above.
Cast solid with an open back so it sits light and close to the finger. Hand-polished, fully sizeable, in sizes 5 through 15 including every half size. White gold is rhodium plated.
