A round signet ring in solid gold — the simplest shape there is, and the one that suits a single initial or a small crest best. The face is left smooth and unengraved, ready for an engraver, and looks clean worn plain.
Choose 14K or 10K gold, in yellow or white. 14K is 58.5% gold and gives the richer, warmer colour. 10K is 41.7% gold — harder, more scratch-resistant, and noticeably more affordable for the same size of ring.
The three sizes
- Small — about 9 x 10 mm. A neat pinky signet, and the size most women choose. Around 1.8 to 2.9 g of gold.
- Medium — about 12 mm across. The everyday signet, big enough to read across a room. Around 3.2 to 4.3 g.
- Large — 13.5 mm and up. A men's statement ring with real weight to it. From 8.8 g.
Face sizes vary between metals, because each is cast from a different blank. The exact measurement for each is listed above.
Closed back, cast solid, hand-polished and fully sizeable, in sizes 5 through 15 including every half size. White gold is rhodium plated.
