18K white gold is 75% pure gold with a bright white finish — a richer gold content than any 10K or 14K chain. The Figaro pattern alternates three short round links with one elongated one, a rhythm that breaks up the line of the chain so it reads as a design rather than a plain cable. It has been the standard Italian men's chain for decades for exactly that reason.
Choosing your chain
Every width and length combination is a separate piece with its own gram weight, so pick both and the page will show you the exact weight and the price for that piece before you add it to the cart. Price follows weight — nothing else.
- Widths: 3.1, 4, 4.6, 6, 7, 8, 10 and 11 MM. 3.1–4.6 MM is a pendant chain or an everyday piece under a collar. 6–7 MM stands alone. 8 MM and up is a heavy statement chain and priced accordingly.
- Lengths: 16 to 30 inches. 20″–22″ is the standard men's neck length; 24″–30″ sits on the chest and works better over a shirt.
- Stamped: 18K, on the clasp tag.
- Clasp: lobster clasp on lighter widths, box clasp with safety catch on the heavier ones.
A note on 18K
More gold means a softer alloy. An 18K chain is the better-looking metal and the more valuable one, but it marks a little more easily than 14K and is worth taking off for the gym or manual work. If you want the same pattern in a harder alloy, we carry Figaro in 10K and 14K in yellow, white and rose.
Care
Warm water, mild soap, a soft brush, dry thoroughly. No chlorine — it attacks the alloy metals in gold, not the gold itself, and can leave a chain brittle at the links. Store it laid flat or hanging rather than coiled in a pile with other chains.
