A bead chain — also called a ball chain — is a line of small gold spheres joined by short connecting bars. It is one of the few chain styles that reads as soft rather than sharp: no flat faces, no hard edges, just a row of round gold catching light from every side. In solid 18K, at 75% pure gold, the colour is the deepest yellow we carry, which suits the rounded shape.
Choosing your chain
This chain comes in one width — 2 MM — in eight lengths. Select the length above and the page will show you the exact gram weight and the price for that piece; price is calculated from the weight of the gold.

- Lengths: 16 to 30 inches. 16″–18″ sits at the base of the neck, 20″–22″ just below the collarbone, 24″+ on the chest.

Who it suits
At 2 MM this is a fine chain — it layers beautifully with rope or Figaro, and it wears well on its own for anyone who finds a Cuban link too heavy-handed. It is not the chain to hang a heavy pendant from; the connecting bars between beads are the narrowest point. For pendants, look at the Franco or rope instead.
Care
Warm water, mild soap, a soft brush between the beads, rinse and dry thoroughly. No chlorine. Store it laid flat — fine chains tangle when they sit in a pile.
