The smallest rectangle signet we carry — a 5.2 x 6.5 mm plate in solid 14K yellow gold, finished in satin rather than high polish.
Satin is brushed, not shiny. It scatters light instead of reflecting it, so the ring reads soft and matte on the hand and hides everyday scuffs far better than a polished face does. If you want a signet that looks worn-in from day one, this is the finish.
At about 1.2 g it is genuinely light. That makes it the natural pinky ring, a first signet, or a stacking piece next to a wedding band. The plate still takes a single initial cleanly.
