A solid 14K yellow gold rectangle signet ring with a 6.5 x 8.0 mm plate cut as an open back.
Open back means the underside of the plate is hollowed out rather than filled. The ring uses less gold, so it costs less and wears lighter, and the opening lets it sit closer to the finger. You see the difference on the hand, not from above — the top face looks the same as a closed back.
At about 2.0 g this is the easy everyday rectangle: enough presence to read as a signet, light enough to forget you have it on. The plate is flat and unengraved, ready for an initial or a monogram.
